Conversations at the Dinner Table

Whenever Hubby and Moe talk about sports, I tend to zone out. I try to follow them and contribute to their sports conversation. Sometimes, they're amazed with the information I provide and then there are other times like this...

Hubby : "Moe, did you know that "so and so" didn't sign with the 49ers?"

Moe: "What team did he join?"

Hubby: "The Cardinals"

Me: (I try to bluff my way into this conversation) "Wow! So, he's going to join an East Coast team."

They both respond at the same time.

Hubby: "What?"
Moe: "You obviously don't know what you're talking about."

Me: "I said that "so and so" is going to join the Marlins on the East Coast."

Hubby: "Honey, he joined the Arizona Cardinals."

Me: (shrug my shoulder and pretend not to be embarrassed) "Well, Cardinals and Marlins are the same thing. It's easy to get them confused."

Moe: (rolls his eyes) "Mom. Cardinals are birds and Marlins are fish."

Me: "Oh". (trying to change the subject so they can stop laughing at me) "Does anyone want seconds?"

Their laughter continues and I secretly wish I had laxatives to put in their food.

That's a funny story :) My little daughter and I are outnumbered by the "male" sports fans in our house too. I've given up trying to get in on their conversations. I like that laxatives thought :) Thanks for visiting my blog too. I enjoyed reading this post!

This was too funny! I'm a bit sport-impaired myself -- I call pool cues "sticks" and get the Cardinals baseball team mixed up with the football team. well, you get the idea! Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday and for your kind comments. And welcome to the blogging world! IT is so much fun and I bet you will develop a full-blown addiction very very soon! : )

Oh wow, your life sounds a lot like mine LOL.
I highly recommend the Naturally Nutty PBs... I have skippy and Peter pan in my cupboard and the N.N. tastes COMPLETELY different compared to the commercial brands. please do give it a try! I hope you like it. My fav is the Vanilla Almond Butter
