An Extremely Teensy Weeny Very Short Prom Story

Moe's prom was last Saturday. I would love to update you with pictures of his prom (we were only able to squeeze one picture out of him, long story) and write about what happened...except there's no story to tell.

Have you ever heard of this quote - "Mothers of Teenagers Know Why Animals Eat Their Young" That is exactly what I felt like doing to my teenager! I asked him how his prom went and I get a response uttered in monotones. When we ask him to clarify his response, we are accused of not being good listeners. Oh, the drama of having a teenager!

After much cajoling and STRAINING our EARS to understand him, we were able to PIECE this story together;

- "date looked hot in blue"
- " limo came late"
- "deejay rocked."
- "danced a lot...my legs hurt"
- "fun. awesome. great."
- "didn't like my veggies."
- "limo broke down."
- "girl hurled in limo from exhaust fumes"

That's all folks! The SHORTEST prom story every told. My only consolation is when Moe has teenagers of his own!

At least he's smiling in this picture! (Well, more like a grimace)

Well, I'm glad you got some info out of him! Why do teens make us go into interrogation mode to get any details? It sounds like he had fun overall. He looks handsome in his prom picture. The blue vest and tie look great. Can you believe that your little guy has grown up so fast?

I think that is GUYS in general right? They mumble with monotones and never really say anything or get excited about anything!!! :) lol!

I'm not looking forward AT ALL to raising teenagers...isn't there somewhere I can send them??? :)

Actually, that sounds like a pretty exciting Prom! The limo broke down AND a girl puked in it? 10 kinds of awesome. :)

As a mother of three boys, this really gives me something to look forward to.

And then they tell me the girl will be worse. Isn't that lovely?

So funny. Maybe 10 years from now you'll find out what REALLY went down. I don't look forward to the teenage years!

septmom- it's hard for me to think that my "little guy" is growing fast. It's hard to believe that he'll be home for just one year!

shelle- you're right, That is GUYS in general!

Jaci- it actually does sound kind of exciting, he'll never forget the girl who hurled.

Jen - At least when your girls become teenagers, you'll have lots of material to work with!

Jenners - I've done that to my mother! I waited until I was in my late twenties and fessed up to some things I've done as a teenager...she wasn't happy about it!

Love the prom conversation!!!!! Sounds like a few we have had around here.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've added an update to yesterday's questions.

But if you are looking for more of the typical humor...look in the archives and read about the bonehead brothers.

I'll be coming back to read more. I hope you don't mind!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Though not a mother myself, I understand your teenage woes. I teach high school. I have some students that DO NOT SHUT UP and some students that I would faint if they gave me so much as a GRUNT. And it seems there is no middle ground on that spectrum.

It is sickly consoling to think things like "I hope one day you have a teenager who will ___________" (the possibilities of that blank are endless). It is sometimes the only thing that keeps me from going completely batty.
