- Did you know that you can use a hairdryer to dry your entire body? Yes, you can! As I was towel drying my hair, a woman took the hair dryer provided by the gym and proceeded to blow dry herself off. She was as naked as a jaybird and started humming away as she bended, twisted, turned, and made sure she got every nook and cranny dried off with that hair dryer. I left the gym with my hair still wet and made a mental note to NEVER use that hair dryer.
- I always go into the steam room after I work out. One day "naked yoga lady" enters. I immediately close my eyes and pretend she's not in the room until she does the downward dog and her butt is facing me! I close my eyes really tight and try desperately to wish the image away from my mind. It doesn't work because she stays in that position forever and then you worry that maybe she's keeled over and is stuck in that position. My eyes are still closed and I try to hear her breathing. I really don't feel like checking to see if her chest is moving, so I wait until she moves into another position. She's okay, because she proceeds to do some other weird yoga move that prompts me to leave the steam room quickly.
- I have an extremely keen sense of smell which is not so good when you're working at the gym with a lot of people. For some reason I'm always stuck walking on the treadmill with "garlic man" right next to me. The man reeks of garlic, it oozes out of his skin and he breathes with his mouth open. And guess who gets to breathe it in?
- I was lifting 15 lb hand weights one on each arm doing bicep curls. I felt strong. Then a little old lady whose several inches shorter than me and looks like she could topple over if there was a sudden gust of wind, proceeds to get two 30 lb dumb bells and lifts them effortlessly. I slowly back away from her and continue to lift my weights on the other side of the gym.
- If you stretch with tight pants make sure no one is around you or at least check for little holes before you leave for the gym. It's amazing how loud a tear can sound especially when the tear is right on your butt.
Have a great week everyone and if your ever going to work out at the gym, remember my tips and you'll be okay.

These are some amazing life lessons!
First time seeing your blog, it looks good.
This is my blog, Herbalife Las Vegas.
Way to keep up at the gym. It's been easy for me to give in to the excuses lately but I finally got back and it feels good. I love getting motivated by my friends.
Ew on the garlic man. I dont know what I'd do if I had to smell that for very long. And your poor eyes and naked yoga lady. I keep wanting to try the steam room, perhaps tehre is a good reason I haven't yet. :)
Yoga lady must be a sight! She must not mind an audience when she gets into position. Funny. I know about those sneaky little holes in tight pants. I'm finding them everywhere.
If I ever get to a gym (hopefully in this lifetime), I'll definitely keep your great tips in mind :) Good for you for working out!!
These observations are hilarious! And I'm not getting the hair-dryer thing. After I work out, I'm all hot and sweaty. The last thing I want to do is blow HOT air all over my body! I guess it could have one of those "cool" settings, but STILL. USE A TOWEL LADY!!
reason #1001 to work out from home.! those are the exact reasons that I don't pay for a gym membership LOL!
hope your vision erases all of those images!
Hmmm.....I like your tips but the best tip ever - Don't work out."
You've just given me more reasons!
I love it!
That is so funny!
OK, so the naked people? That's just wierd. How in the world does a person's mind work to make them think that blowdrying themselves off and doing naked yoga IN PUBLIC is OK? Really.
I so want to be that old lady when I'm old. I guess I need to move on past my 8 lb weights. 15 pounds IS strong. :)
Oh, yikes and yikes. I do a lot of yoga, but generally not naked and in front of other people.. in the gym. Crazy. And my sense of smell is not serving me well in the gym locker room lately. Ick.
OMG...that yoga lady is just not right. And garlic man...guess he needs a tic tac!
Ok...you guys are lifting 15 lb weights and I'm having trouble with my 5 lb...yikes!
Hugz,
Michele
Shut up!! Naked yoga and body drying?? Hahahaha!
I left an award for you on my blog today!
What the hell kind of gym do you go to???? I can't believe the naked yoga lady or the hair dryer lady ... eewwwwww! Of course, I haven't been to a gym in years so maybe things have changed...
I laughed loud enough to cause my daughters to come running to see what was so funny. I am a new exerciser so I definitely need your tips for the gym. So far I haven't had any naked gym encounters - but I'll definitely stay away from the hair dryers.
lol! you are so funny! That is so great that your are keeping up with your exercise routine! keep it up! That naked lady needs to put some clothes on! why do people feel like they can walk around naked like that? in the steam room ? doing yoga moves? that is just weird!
and one day, I found a few holes in my black workout pants! I am sure someone saw those holes!
LOL...I'm going to use naked yoga lady as my excuse to stay fat. Whenever I even think about working out...that image will keep me eating potato chips on the couch!!!
These people are the reason my husband and I spent 10 years amassing the equipment for our home gym. Holy freakin crap!
Very funny and believable! At least you're probably getting the positive side effect of losing your appetite with a few of those observations! LOL!!
OKay... YOGA lady? GROSS... GROSS< GROSS> GROSS!!!
That is INSANE and should be illegal!
Just saying!
Did your pants rip???
You need to write about THAT! HEHE
Okay maybe I'm glad I don't live close to a gym and am forced to work out alone....the only naked body that gives me nightmares is my own!! :) I'd like to keep it that way!
This is why I don't go to the gym!
Hey, I've got to lay the blame somewhere!
Wow! Five good reasons to stay away from they gym (as if I need more! I can't get the picture of 'blow dryer lady' out of my mind. You're a wonderful writer!
Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I get very winded just lifting 5 pound weights.
Come visit my blog sometime. :)
A great observation on the goings on inside the gym! I'm still amazed at what I see and isn't it funny how you always feel great lifting weights only to find someone who can lift more or run faster or harder!
i'm not there yet but i'm trying....Keep up the great blogging!

Those are some fabulous gym tips! I wonder how long it takes to blow dry your entire body? I may have to test that out (in the privacy of my own home, of course).
Oh my. I am beyond distrurbed about the lady and her hair dryer.... OH MY! And the steam room naked lady. They must be VERY comfortable with themselves. I would never do that in a million years.
Way to go going to the gym : ) I need to go to mine. desprately
I literally laughed out loud!!! Keep observing! You just got added to my blogs to read! (I know...what a friggin honor...)
